# Blueprint

## We highly recommend using a blueprint to determine your template structure prior to building anything in the platform. A blueprint shows all of the content records and placeholders that will be used along with the questions in the form they will be tied to.

Once you select the document you want to automate using RapidDocs, you will need to determine the layout. If your document has a table of contents or headings, those may be a good place to start. Follow the steps below to complete your blueprint:

3. Enter sections and associated questions and headers in the blueprint spreadsheet. If some of the sections are already available in your content database, enter the record IDs in the appropriate column.

- Keep your blueprint updated with any changes you make to your RapidDoc over time. This will help you keep your template organized and allow you to more easily fix any mistakes that create issues with your generated documents.
